What you need as an owner
- See whether every tracker follows its target angle – not only whether the plant produces power
- Evidence of safety positions in storms and snow
- Your own data through an API, independent of the supplier of the mechanics
- A way forward when the original supplier no longer supports the controls
What Feldmelder does here
- The portal reports deviations from the target angle, trackers that went offline, motor and drive-sync faults, wind sensor faults and unacknowledged commands.
- If nobody acknowledges an alarm, the portal escalates to the next contact; maintenance windows mute non-critical messages.
- REST API with tokens and scopes (read only or acknowledge alarms) and CSV export of the measurements.
- Read-only accounts and share links for a single plant – for owners, farmers or assessors, for example.
- On an official hail or storm warning of the German Weather Service (DWD) for the site the box moves the trackers to the safety position (off until it is set up).
- On a DWD snow or ice warning the trackers move to the snow position so that the snow slides off.
- Wind stow from the wind sensor in the field; while it is active the box refuses the "automatic" command.
- The box works without the cloud – it decides on safety positions in the field and buffers its data for up to 72 hours.
When the controls are no longer supported
Manufacturers change owners, restructure or discontinue products. Whether and how an existing plant can be moved to Feldmelder we assess case by case – the steps are on the retrofit page.
Scope
- Existing controls of other manufacturers cannot simply be brought into the portal; that needs a connection we build in the project.
- No yield or availability guarantees.
How we work: every function of the box, the tracker control unit (TCU) and the portal is covered by automated tests. Field installations start with a pilot project and acceptance criteria agreed beforehand. The live demo shows an example plant with example data.
